Collecte Localisation Satellites (CLS)

CLS was established in early 1986 as a subsidiary of CNES (French Space Agency) and IFREMER (the French national agency for the study and management of marine resources). CLS started an activity in satellite altimetry in 1990 with the creation of the CLS Space Oceanography Division. About sixty engineers and scientists now work in this division. The division is involved in numerous projects in remote sensing, oceanography and operational oceanography.

Survey on the Geographic Information Market in Europe
The Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD, as coordinator of the EU project HUMBOLDT, in cooperation with the Technical University Darmstadt prepared a survey on the European GI Market.
The main goal of this study is to deduce certain trends and future developments based on the opinions and expectations of market experts and decision makers and not to obtain a representative empirical study.

GIS experts from academia, industry and government will gather in Munich for two days of training courses and workshops followed by a two-day conference from 21-24 March, 2011.
HUMBOLDT will be presented in the training course "Data harmonisation in the context of INSPIRE" on Tuesday, 22 March.
