Forest Management Institute (FMI)

The Forest Management Institute (FMI), in Czech HL, is a government organization established by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic.

FMI has long experience in spatial data based information system development for forest administration, remote sensing and GIS application.

One of the main task of the FMI is providing functions of Information and Data for forest and game management sector of the Czech Republic Centre. All data are stored in Information and Data.

The FMI formulates the principles and provides studies, projects, and plans of the optimum economical activities respecting and amending ecological stability of forest and landscape ecosystems.

The FMI processes and administers detailed information on all the Czech forests.

The FMI permanently serves as a data provider and an advisory expert for the government and governmental, public, and private Institutions.
